It is a very positive issue that the number of uni­versities has been increasing, since they sup­port acedemical works and provide the oppor­tunity to raise university graduate staff. Howe-
ver, after graduation we are mostly to face with a new trouble: Insufficient job opportunuties.

By considering our education level, we will appro­ach this matter in terms of engineering and middle level staff. Engineering is an “upper identity” which is a famous expression used recently. If a person has the engineering degree, he can shape his future thro­ugh working in such fields as manufacturing, rese­arch and development, after sales services or sales and marketing etc.
Instead of working in their interest fields or compe­tent areas, engineers mostly work in the fields where they can ea­sily find ajob or where they can develop their abilities. When we consider an engineer -who loves to deal with details and who de­fines himself as someone obsessed with searching the matters in deep- always trying to find new customers or has to catch his monthly sales quotas, the tragedy of the this subject will be much more clear.
On the other hand, the companies those want to create new and different issues need genuis crazy people thinking and thin­king continuously.
That is to say, staff has been complaining about being unab­le to find a suitable job, and companies has been doing so about not being able to find the sutiable personel.
In my opinion, no matter how high the education level of pe­ople are, they should very make use of the period -either long term or short term- during their military service life. As our VIP people state, “military life is not a life to rest in the barracks or outposts” and also we are not in a term to fight. We can benefit from this military life period in such ways as below :
. 1. Improving computer usage abilities of even if the lowest education level soldiers through introducing them intemet and simple Microsoft Word and Excel applications
2. Supporting the supply of middle level staff through provi­ding education high school and technical high school graduates with software, hardware and research and development.
3,,11 will be very productive if the engineers were operated with web based applications or in the way that will be supporti­ve to TUBITAK’s and ASELSAN’s projects. In addition, the soldiers should be assisted by training for what they want to do after their military life.
By taking the global world conditions into consideration, in place of feeding our army physically and keeping it ready for battle, we need to have a fight in terms of economics that gives information the most important priority.
As here clearly noticed, In addition to protect our Republic and Democracy and declaring extraordinary safety precautions, the army is expected to have a very important role in creating in­formation society and educating 700.000 people and unit them with the society. This will be very usefulfor our national econo­mic war.
