Lets meet on Mobile MSN

taner keserI would like to share one of the idea that was mentioned in one of our meetings held with our colleagues. There is always someone special in our lives. Our child, our wife, our lover, our family, our friends and so on … One of them may be sick, or may having a trouble and we might be the only one who can solve their problems. Or in another case, someone neeeding some information from our company might have to reach us … Many such examples can be given. On the other hand, mobile phones have been increasing their impact on our lives, and they are the unique way of making us as accesible as possible all the time … GSM Operators have been giving numbers of services via mobile phones. Thus, they have became a means of obtaining information about diverse fields like weather forecast, soccer results, horoscopes, melody downloading, advertising
etc. Above mentioned special people’s being unable to reach us when necessary, and more importantly not knowing the reason why they can’t reach us create such harmful feelings as distress, depression, sorrow, anxiety etc. Both sides is badly affected by this situation. Most of us know msn status bar. It shows our status at that moment: “busy”, “online”, “offline”, “be right back”, “at lunch” etc. We have the idea that, similarly it would be very useful sending such messages, even with our own words (written, operator recorded voice, our own voice) to GSM network. Thus, before calling us a person will know -at least he will know how we want to him to know- our status at that moment. He will know the reason why we don’t answer his call. This service will move communication one step further. The service is different than sending sms. Application may be in 2 different way:
I. When a person starts calling, there might be a service like “listen while ringing” which is already being given by some GSM operators. During connection phase you hear the message for example “the person you are calling is sleeping at the moment” and the connection is set up anyway and the phone rings.
2. Or when entering to our phone book we would see the status of all recorded people. For example, suppose we entered our phone book and see all our contacts have a message in their row like below:
ALi - 05 XX XXX XX XX -I AM IN THE CLASS. IT WILL FINISH AT 11 :00 A.M.

A YSE- 05XX XXX XX XX - I’M SLEEPING AND WILL W AKE AT 08:00 A.M.

BURAK- 05XX XXX XX XX - IT IS FORBIDDED TO USE MOBILE PHONE IN THIS BUS. I CANNOT ANSWER YOUR CALL.
LEYLA- 05XX XXX XX XX -I’M IN THEA THER.
DERY A- 05 XX XXX XX XX - IN THE MEETING DOGAN- 05 XX XXX XX XX - BUSY AT THE MOMENT.
ERKAN- 05XX XXX XX XX - DON’T CALL ME UNLESS IT IS URGENT.
HAKAN- 05XX XXX XX XX - I’LL CALL YOU BACK …
The second option is possible by installing required sofwares or through networks’ and terminals’ continuous communication when GSM operators starts IN platform and 4G applications. In other words the second option can be possible when IP based services will be put into affect. Thanks to such a service, because we know why he does not (or cannot) reply our call, we will not be getting angry, sad, anxious etc. Concerning our status showing messages to be sent to network, the examples may be found very limited and narrow minded. However, through Turkish people’s sharp intelligence and “creativity”, mil1ions of messages can be sent to network. The service which is once has serious purposes may even become a very crucial part of enteJ1ainment.
Moreoever, it can be a very profitable, different and creative idea that helps GSM operators to rise up their ARPU inputs.
Come on! Let’s chat on msn! But on mobile one …
