I have found a report about Turktelekom which is written by O. Hasdeniz. He has performed his EE 300 Summer Practice in Turk Telecommunication. I want to share that document with you. And i’m sure he will be a great engineer int he future.

For nearly 165 years has Turk Telecom been working to supply modern communication opportunities to the subscribers. This effort is continuing today based on the same ideal. With the aim of providing modern technologies, Turk Telecom directed itself to international goals from national goals with its customer-oriented approach and qualified services. Turk Telecom is one of the biggest companies in the world, having the information and experience well enough to compete in the national and international communications markets. It is a decentralized company which has one general directorate and 81 administrative provincial directorate, one for each administrative provincial.

The Figure below shows the organizational structure of Turk Telecom General Directorate respectively.

The Personnel Structure of the Company

Since there is a change of the personnel number at the company, I have not found the exact numbers. But before the change, the number of the personnel and their duties at Turk Telecom Ankara Administrative Provincial Directorate are approximately as follows:

Total number of employees: 5119 Industrial Engineers: 43

Total number of engineers: 786 Mechanical Engineers: 39

Electrical-Electronics Engineers: 546 Physics Engineers: 9

Computer Engineers: 149

Main Area of Business

Turk Telecom provides all kinds of national and international telecommunication services in Turkey. After the separation of post and telecommunication services in 1995, Turk Telecom has taken over the mission of maintaining the position of Turkey as the region’s communication hub. It invests continuously in communication infrastructure and has already reached over a line capacity of 19.000.000 of which 83% are digital.

Turk Telecom puts a whole range of telecommunication services such as ADSL, ISDN, Voicemail, SMS, TTnet, Centrex, Leased Lines, Packet Switched Data, VSAT, IBS, GMPCS, Video Conference, Videotex, NMT Mobile Telephone, Paging, Directory and 118 Assistant Directory.
