SS7

SS7 or Signalling System Number 7 is a set of protocols that describes a means of communication between telephone switches in public telephone networks. Access servers, canvas united messaging etc. PART II

Signalling

In any network, the definition of signalling is the exchange of information. In a telecommunication network, signalling is the exchange of information that relates to the establishment and control of connections, including management.

Today most transmission between telephone exchanges is digital, but in some cases signalling operates on specifications developed for analogue exchanges. The exchanges in these networks use Channel Associated Signalling (CAS). The CAS restricts signalling to the PCM link in which the telephone connections take place.

GENERALIZED SYSTEM OF THE EXCHANGES AND SERVERS

The voltage on the voice information of the telephone lines is on the order of 250 MV. During the conversation, this is about 5-10 V DC. The current on the lines is about 20-100 mA. The voltage on the opened circuits and the voltage on the lines when there is no conversation on it were first 24V. But now these voltages are 48V.

A Look at Wi-Max.

31 12 2007

wimaxWiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a new standard that lean on the IEEE’s 802.16 wireless communication standard specification and it provides services to faster and wider areas when it is compared with 802.11 group standards (WiFi).Especially it is expected that it will provide wideband internet services to the areas that cable and DSL services cannot reach. WIMAX presents lots of advantages compared with other wireless technologies. WIMAX multi road choice and the property of distribution of delay makes it present a good perfonnance even it is out of the view point of user’ base station.
